Nygma Child Safety Standards
Last updated: October 26, 2026
Genie9 does not tolerate child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion and the sexualisation of minors. These standards apply to everything in Nygma: encrypted drives, share links and Nygma Chat.
1. Our rules
Our Terms of Service forbid storing, sharing, sending or asking for CSAM, anything that sexualises children, and any contact with a child for sexual purposes. Nygma and Nygma Chat are only for people aged 16 and over; we close any account we learn belongs to someone younger.
2. How Nygma is built
- Nygma Chat is invite-only: nobody can message you unless you accepted their invitation (a QR code or one-time link). There is no directory, public profile, search or random matching.
- Drives and chats are end-to-end encrypted. We cannot see their content and we do not scan it. This protects our users’ privacy, and it means we rely on reports and on the law to act.
- Anyone can block a contact at any time; the other person is not told.
3. How to report
- In the app: open the chat, then Report a problem, and choose the child-safety reason. You can add a note and, if you choose, the recent messages.
- By email: abuse@genie9.com — for anything you find in Nygma, including a share link. Include the link or the account’s email address.
- Never send us sexual images of children, even to report them. Describe what you saw and where.
- If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first. You can also report to the Internet Watch Foundation (UK) or the NCMEC CyberTipline (US).
Child-safety reports are handled first. We acknowledge every report within 48 hours.
4. What we do
When we receive a credible report, or otherwise become aware of CSAM or CSAE involving Nygma, we:
- disable the content we can reach (for example a share link) and suspend or close the accounts involved;
- preserve the information we hold;
- report it to the authorities as the law requires — in the UK the National Crime Agency, in the US the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), and the competent authority elsewhere; and
- cooperate with valid requests from law enforcement.
5. Child safety contact
Our child safety point of contact can be reached at abuse@genie9.com, and can speak to our practices and compliance. We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us, including in the United Kingdom and the United States.
